The sand was sandy, the water was wet, and the mighty Dragon boards were officially conquered! Marking the start of the first ever dedicated team SUP event, the 28th – 30th October 2017 will forever remain a momentous occasion in paddle board history.
Monday 30th October 2017, a day for some when dreams would come true and for others victory would slip from grasp. This was it, the culmination of months of training would come down to just four heats. Four races which would decide the course of history and crown the first ever Dragon World Champions!
Sunday 29th October 2017 – 5.00am – Despite the fact that the first rays of light were only just skimming the horizon, the day was already warm and the Red Paddle Co team were working hard to prepare for the day to come. Today was the result of 12 months preparation. Today was the start of the Dragon World Championship, a tournament which would crown the first ever team SUP champions!
$6,000 USD prize purse for the Dragon World Championships confirmed! The event will be the first of its kind and the first ever dedicated, global team race event. Taking place in Carlisle Bay, Barbados on 28th – 30th October 2017 the inaugural competition will see teams of all abilities, from all over the world battling it out to be crowned the victors.
The 2017 North America Paddlefest party kicked off in style with the Red Dragon inflatable SUP races on Friday as part of the Dragon World Series. The paddlers competed in choppy conditions which saw the rules being downgraded to allow kneeling.
The Red Dragon made an appearance at the SUP Festival in Latvia last week. With seven teams participating all completed two laps of a 7km course. With the final two teams battling it out in a head to head sprint to be crowned champion! It was team Gain Fast who conquered and came out victorious!
The beautiful coast of Cambrils, Spain hosted an epic Dragon World Series Event. With 11 teams turning out in full force to conquer the new team sport, the energy from participants and spectators were high.
The Red Dragon was unleashed in Latvia at the Play Ground Festival; a gigantic playground created to suit all ages! The event took place over 3 days and saw 20 teams tackle the Dragon as 2000-3000 more tried Red Paddle Co boards!
